Meet Our Residents

Although we primarily focus on horses, HodgePodge is a rescue for everyone who needs an urgent home for life of longer. Meet the current HPF crew and come back often as there are always new surprises here at HPF!

Helios Hyperion

Heli is a Trakehner gelding who was thrown away when his breed was no longer welcome at his birthplace.

Zandro

Zandro is an imported Dutch Warmblood who was retired from show jumping after an injury. His family entrusted him to us for the rest of his days.

Ninky Nu Ponykins

Ninky is a Section A Welsh pony, who was bred by a backyard breeder who didn't believe in feed, veterinary or farrier care. He is Helios' best friend.

Tyrion Lannister

Tyrion is a dwarf miniature horse who was rescued from a 'rescue.' He was living without any horse friends and was rather lonely before coming to HPF.

Fred Astaire

Freddie, aka Floof, is the smallest horse at HPF and is a dwarf. He and Ginger were sent to slaughter together. They will never be apart again.

Ginger Rogers

Ginger and Fred had been together their whole lives and were sent to slaughter together, where they would have been separated and died horrifically. They will never be apart again.

Windsor Horne Lockwood IV

Baby Win is a purebred Shire yearling colt who was completely unhandled prior to coming to HPF. Shires are an endangered breed and we hope to use Win to teach people about his breed's plight.

I'm Your Huckleberry

Huckleberry, aka Chucklehead, is a registered Oldenburg warmblood who was on his last day prior to shipping to slaughter in Mexico from a a kill pen. Huck is a ridiculous goofball.

Peppa Petunia Pepita Pig-Pig

Peppa lost her home when her family lost their house. A friend's dog attacked her and so she came to HPF for safe harbor and is our only current piggie member.

Wheezie

Wheezie is a Barbados sheep who was found running in a downtown area. She was taken to a dog shelter and held in a concrete kennel, surrounded by dogs and terrified. We rescued her from the dog shelter and she's been with us ever since.

Elphaba

Elphaba (Elphie), a rescued barbados lamb who shattered who front leg and now walks on 2 plates, 6 screws and a wire. Elphie the bionic sheep!

Kringle

Kringle is our barn kitty, and the queen of them all. She came to us after someone left her in a box at the front door of an apartment.

Caramel Cappuccino

Capp came to us with a lot of injury and malnutrition. He has had a long road to recovery, but he is doing so well.
